As you can see I have over 3 years of experience as a Telecomms Business Analyst - mainly dealing with Internet and ADSL.

EMPLOYMENT
· Telecomms Start-Up Project - Business Analyst (Contractor) (http://www.talkgas.net), British Gas Communications, Ltd. June 2000 – Present

Independent contractor – employed as telecomms/ISP business analyst with British Gas Communications. Working as part of ISP design team with responsibility for interfaces with external companies. Responsible for automating the transfer of data between Talkgas.net and external suppliers.

Responsible for identifying internal customer needs and implementing correctly budgeted and structured solutions. This included encrypted email systems and automated file transfer systems. Responsible for ensuring that the Billing System was correctly configured for ISP customers.

Responsible for negotiating and liasing with 3rd Party suppliers. Responsible for ensuring that product requirements were properly specified and then delivered in timely fashion. Involved working with an existing ISP to deliver ISP technical support and infrastructure to British Gas Communications Ltd.

Responsible for project managing a variety of systems through software development; liased with developers and customers to ensure that systems met the requirements

Responsible for delivering systems into from test platforms into live environments; acted as a design consultant to the software testers. Provided post-launch support to Front-line Operations teams.
 

· Team Leader, Business Analysis Unit (http://www.bt.com), BT Plc, September 1997 – June 2000.

Responsible for a 5 person design team producing systems for BTs corporate and ISP data networks. The networks form the backbone of BTs  Internet infrastructure. Responsible for a multi-million pound design budget. Took a leading role across multiple areas to ensure the rapid development and successful delivery of solutions. Additionally responsible for design process improvements including automation.
 

Almost 3 years years experience at BT's world renowned centre of excellence for Data, Voice and Mobile networks. Such an environment has provided excellent first hand experience of many new technologies such as WAP, video mobile phones and ADSL.

Responsible for identifying and analyzing customer requirements for some of the UK’s largest data networks, such as IP and ATM; captured and analyzed requirements for world first Internet products and technologies, for example ADSL (http://www.bt.com/adsl/)

Responsible for determining strategies to upgrade Britains largest dial-in Internet  network, this included producing feasibility studies and customer requirements documentation; negotiating with equipment suppliers such as Cisco and Lucent

Responsible for designing complete MIS and support system solutions for BT’s Internet and ADSL networks; developed solutions using the Oracle Workflow tool and developments of the Business Objects MIS tool

Responsible for delivering complete support systems for trials of advanced multi-media products (ie ADSL); liased with customers and managed their expectations

Responsible for helping to run internal helpdesk - managed day to day operations and other helpdesk operators; developed operation manuals for internal helpdesk

Responsible for recruiting and training new employees in groups of up to 30 people; developed internal training program’s and manuals
